Manifest BLU as an actual character
A visual and personality layer for the intelligence that already exists underneath it.
BLU already knows things. The question is whether it can show that it knows them — whether it can have recognizable expressions, motion, reactions and presence that correspond to what it is actually doing.
The system has to be right before the face is worth drawing.
THE EXPERIMENT
A face for something that already thinks
Manifest BLU as an actual character inside the product: a visual and personality layer for the intelligence that already exists underneath it. Explore whether BLU can have recognizable expressions, motion, reactions and presence that correspond to what it is actually doing — not decoration bolted onto a chat box, but a character whose state is the system’s state.
THE TEST BENCH
A test bench, until there is a character language
The visual test bench is where character form, expressions, motion concepts and hover states get tried. Checking. Found something. Something looks wrong. I do not know yet. Iterate until there is a coherent character language that could eventually be implemented in the product, rather than a folder of images that look good separately.
WHY IT IS PARKED
Doing it properly is a rabbit hole
Deliberately parked, for now. Character design, consistency, an expression system, animation, assets, implementation and refinement will eat meaningful time. BLU’s underlying system is the priority. So the character work stays visible as an experiment worth returning to rather than becoming a distraction from getting the operating intelligence finished.
